Koala Ornament
Few animals in Australia are more iconic than the Koala, one of Australia’s most beloved animals here at home and abroad.
One look at their family tree and it’s easy to tell why - almost all other species closely related to koalas are gone, having gone extinct and leaving only koalas to inspire our imagination and tug at our heart strings. It is said that they closely resemble the size and body shape of an 18 month old baby, making them elicit strong feelings among humans. Notorious eucalyptus eaters, these animals spend most of their time snacking and sleeping, with an average of only 15 minutes a day spent on socializing. They are slow to move and prone to harm in bush fires, drought and deforestation. They truly live their lives in the trees and to keep them safe we need to continue to advocate for their habitats.
