Major Mitchell's Cockatoo Ornament

This Australian native bird’s namesake, Sir Thomas Mitchell the explorer once said: "Few birds more enliven the monotonous hues of the Australian forest than this beautiful species…” 

We couldn’t agree more. Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo is thought of as the most beautiful of all the cockatoos in Australia. However, as it both needs the dry of the interior and eucalypt trees to nest, its numbers are on the decline due to man-made changes.
