Platypus Ornament

Outer Island

Platypus Ornament

$45.00

An enigma among enigmas, it was initially thought the Platypus was a hoax when it was discovered.

But no my friend, these brilliant and weird egg-laying mammals are very real. And also, unfortunately, very alone as all other related species to the Platypus have become extinct. The national symbol of New South Wales, these mysterious creatures are nocturnal, although they are known to come out on cloudy days.

  • 159mm x 64mm
  • Hand painted wooden ornament with jute twine / painted one-side
  • Designed and hand made locally in Sydney

Since this item is handmade, each ornament is slightly varied in patterning, texture, wood grain or burn.
