Exquisite watercolour images depicting the birds and flowers of Sydney Cove, depicted by George Raper (1769-1796), a Royal Navy Officer who travelled on the First Fleet to Australia

Midshipman George Raper received naval training in drawing and joined the Sirius for the voyage to New South Wales. He was 19 years old at the time and produced exquisite watercolour illustrations depicting the birds and flowers of Sydney Cove.
